Since working with Bob Proctor, I have learnt so much about the importance of meaningful goals and the correct ways to set goals.

Our plans miscarry because they have no aim. When a man does not know what harbour he is making for, no wind is the right wind.~ Seneca

Yes, that is right. If you drift without the right goal in your mind, you will end up nowhere. If someone asks you: where are you going? Well, you say I am just going north, west, south, whatever. And if you don’t know where you are going, you will definitely have no ideas what tools and help you will need along the way to get to where you want to go. As you have no idea of your exact destination in the first place. The result is confusion. Confused mind with confused actions and confused results.

Bob talks about a study on setting goals in one of his articles.

This study was made of alumni, ten years out of Harvard University to find out how many were achieving their goals. The study revealed some very interesting information. An outstanding 83% had NO GOALS… NONE. They had absolutely no targets they were working toward. 14% had specific goals but were not written down. However, they were earning three times the income the 83% were earning.

That would indicate that a firm and carefully designed plan of action towards a clearly and precisely set goal resulted in increased earning power, improved self-image, and overall improved results.

Look around you. People you know in your life: high and low performers. Did you notice that those with written goals achieve and enjoy far more than those who do not?

Quotes to get you on a higher awareness on goal setting.

“Set your mind on a definite goal and observe how quickly the world stands aside to let you pass.” ~ Napoleon HillThink and Grow Rich

A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.” ~ Larry Bird

What keeps me going is goals.”  ~ Muhammad Ali

By taking the time to stop and appreciate who you are and what you’ve achieved – and perhaps learned through a few mistakes, stumbles and losses – you actually can enhance everything about you. Self-acknowledgment and appreciation are what give you the insights and awareness to move forward toward higher goals and accomplishments.” ~ Jack Canfield
